Pharmacy Manager Justin Carter, a graduate of Chapin High School, has returned to his roots. He holds a BS in Biology from USC along with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Appalachia College of Pharmacy. With over 15 years of experience and a passion for patient care, he is energized by the opportunity to serve others and support his community. Justin attends Chapin United Methodist along with his wife, Shannon and their children Derrick, Jenny Kate and Ryan. As a father of a child with multiple Congenital Heart Defects, he is also a proud supporter of Hope for BraveHEARTS. Justin enjoys running, spending time with his family, and watching Gamecock football.
Will Rodgers has been with Chapin Pharmacy since 2011. As a graduate of Chapin High School and a life long member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, Will has deep Chapin roots. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2007 and became a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Tech in 2004. He has worked in many different pharmacy settings in his 15 years experience, and Chapin has by far been the most rewarding. Will enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing tennis.
Darla W. Major is a 2002 graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. She has had the opportunity to work and experience many different locations. Darla’s travels have included stops in New York, Alabama, Pennsylvania and Canada. She has experience not only in Athletic Training but also Safety/Injury Prevention, Residence Life in the University setting and Floral Design. Darla joined Chapin Pharmacy in 2015. She specializes in Customer Service and is excited about the opportunities to work with the patients of the pharmacy. Darla and her husband Daniel reside in Chapin, South Carolina with their 3 children: Luke, Savannah and Caroline. They are very active in their church and community, working with church youth groups, the Chapin Schools, the PTO and the Boy Scouts of America.
Melissa Brown is a graduate of Chapin High, class of 2009. She works full time as a vet tech at Chapin Veterinary Care Center. She started working part time at Chapin Pharmacy in 2014 as the delivery driver and cashier. She has 5 dogs, 4 cats, 4 horses, a snake and a bird. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, camping, and riding her horses.
Jeanie Thompson, a former Charleston native, proudly calls herself a Chapinite after moving here to Chapin in 1983. She retired from 32 years of customer service experience in the telecom/technology field at AT&T and Avaya. Jeanie then worked in the Chapin community with her husband “Trucky” until retiring again in 2013. Jeanie joined the Chapin Pharmacy family in November of 2013. She and her husband are members of Chapin Baptist Church. She enjoys boating, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Martha Wessinger has been a cashier at Chapin Pharmacy for 6 years. She enjoys gardening and sharing her flowers with others. Martha and her husband, Glenn, are members of Riverland Hills Baptist Church.6
Jonathan’s family moved to Columbia from Iowa in the summer of 1998. He attended Cardinal Newman High School, then the University of South Carolina where he studied French. During school, Jonathan worked in a community pharmacy and continued after graduation. He has worked in various positions throughout Columbia and is happy to now be in Chapin. His free time is spent enjoying the outdoors, traveling and visiting his nephews in Jacksonville, Florida.
Melissa Harris graduated from ASU in Boone, NC. She married her high school sweetheart, Rob, and soon after had a daughter. Her husband’s job brought them to Chapin 15 years ago. She taught pre-K for 10 years and joined the Chapin Pharmacy family in June of 2015. She and her family attend Chapin United Methodist Church. She enjoys watching her daughter play softball, spending time with family and friends, decorating, and riding the motorcycle with her husband.
Tyler Ancona, grew up in Seneca, SC. He graduated from Seneca High School in 2012. Tyler is currently is his second year of Pharmacy School at USC. He joined the Chapin Pharmacy team in 2015 after completing his summer rotation. He loves Clemson sports, being active, and spending time playing with his dogs. Tyler is excited for the opportunity to grow in his understanding of pharmacy in the Chapin community.
Jessica Friedel is a long-standing employee of Chapin Pharmacy. She grew up in Auburn, NY and moved to Columbia in 2002. She has been a pharmacy technician and a member of our team for more than 12 years. Jessica is married to John and they have a daughter named Lorelei. Lorelei was born with multiple congenital heart defects. Jessica enjoys spending time reading and knitting and is a co-founder of Hope for BraveHEARTS.
